Previous to moving into higher education, Kathy spent 17 years in clinical practice, working with young children, infants, and toddlers in a variety of settings. Throughout her education and professional practice, she specialized in working with children and caregivers and professional interdisciplinary teams of educators in the processes of collaborative assessment and intervention. Kathy served as one of the original members of the Specialty Board in Child Language. She is Professor Emerita at Wichita State University where she held the position of Professor and Department Chair for 10 years.
