Ruth Stonestreet's career has led her to experiences in schools, private clinics, state agencies, and academia. She has impacted the lives of infants-toddlers-preschoolers and their families with program development, evaluation, assessment, and language intervention techniques in Kentucky, Mississippi, Michigan, Illinois, and Georgia. Dr. Stonestreet has numerous presentations and inservices at national, regional, state, and local levels. She was instrumental in developing Early On Michigan,(Part H now Part C) of IDEA and has continued to include early intervention in her presentations and academic courses. The development of coursework in language disorders in young children birth to 5 years, craniofacial anomalies and syndrome disorders, and counseling for speech-language pathologists continue to be taught in academia. Besides academia and presentations, she continues to serve as a consultant and mentor and supervisor for ASHA certification and state licensure.
