Laura Crites has over 30 years of experience as a speech/language pathologist. A flexible and curious practitioner, she has worked as a language classroom teacher, augmentative and alternative communication consultant, autism consultant, early childhood and school-age therapist, and diagnostic speech/language pathologist. Laura also holds a second master’s degree in reading and is a certified trainer for See-the-Sound/Visual Phonics (STS/VP). Certified in Special Education, as a Reading Specialist, and licensed as a Speech/Language Pathologist by the state of Missouri, she has evaluated and taught diverse student populations including multi-language learners and neurodiverse individuals across the Saint Louis Metropolitan Area. Laura has presented at state and local conferences on autism assessment, theory of mind evaluation tools, use of STS/VP for DHH teachers and interpreters, and narrative language skills for assessment and intervention. Laura’s current research interests include intervention and diagnostic use of language sampling and narrative skills for neurodiverse individuals.
