Kyung Hae Hwang, PhD, CCC-SLP, TSSLD-BE, BCS-CL
Kyung Hae Hwang, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, is a bilingual speech-language pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University. She is also the founder and director of iTalk Speech & Language Center, a private practice with a team of clinicians providing culturally responsive and inclusive care for individuals of all ages with communication disorders.
Dr. Hwang earned her PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds licensure in New York and New Jersey, the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA, Board Certification as a Specialist in Child Language (BCS-CL), and a TSSLD with a bilingual extension in Korean.
Her clinical work focuses on children’s language development and disorders, particularly among bilingual and neurodiverse populations. Her research centers on motor speech disorders, exploring intelligibility profiles and effective, evidence-based treatment approaches that enhance children’s communication and participation.
