Elizabeth P. Lucas, MA, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL

Lucas is a Lead Master Clinician/Clinical Instructor at the University of Delaware. With over 30 years of experience as a pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), she views her role as multi-faceted, allowing her to demonstrate clinical excellence with clients, students, professors, and master clinician colleagues. She has accepted multiple opportunities to be involved in a collaborative work environment with a community of people that work toward a common goal of excellence through research and education while always being mindful of patient care. Her intervention strategies are rooted in a combination of social interaction and linguistic theories with the underlying premise that cognition and language development directly influence each other, and language development occurs through social interaction. Being an open minded, accepting person she views as one of her best clinical tools for providing family and teacher education while being culturally responsive and promoting support to develop communication skills across settings.
