Based in San Diego, Claudia Dunaway has devoted her 45-year career to helping individuals with communication differences and improving the knowledge and working conditions of practicing SLPs. She was the Lead SLP for San Diego Unified School District until 2012 and a lecturer and clinical supervisor for the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, San Diego State University for over 20 years. Claudia is dual certified in child language (BCS-CL) and in stuttering, cluttering, and fluency (BCS-SCF). She has received numerous local, state, and national awards for her contributions to the advancement of speech, language, and hearing sciences, most notably in public education. In 2023, she was elected an ASHA Fellow. Currently, she owns Claudia Dunaway Consulting and provides professional development, nationwide, in the areas of academic language, literacy, and critical thinking to districts, associations and agencies.
