Cassandra Peters-Johnson, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, F-ASHA

Since receiving her PhD in Human Communication Studies from Howard University, MEd in Speech Pathology from Northeastern University, and BA from Loyola University (Mt. St. Agnes College), Dr. Cassandra Peters-Johnson has served as a speech-language pathologist, diversity instructor, and special education administrator in the public schools for over 15 years, an executive at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Council for Exceptional Children for over 15 years, and an adjunct associate professor at several universities including Howard, Jackson State, UDC, and Trinity. She is an international presenter and is the author of many publications including journal articles, book chapters, newsletters, books, and continuing education materials. Dr. Peters-Johnson is currently a speech-language pathologist in the schools and a private practitioner serving adults with disabilities. She is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and she was appointed to the Maryland Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers, and Speech-Language Pathologists in October 2007. She served as Speech-Language Pathology co-chair of the Board for several years before her terms ended. She is currently employed with Prince George’s County Public Schools in Beltsville, MD and maintains a private practice serving adults with developmental disabilities.
