Amy Brummel, SLPD, CCC-SLP/L, BCS-CL

Dr. Amy K. Brummel graduated with highest honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Science and an M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology. She taught phonetics as an undergraduate teaching assistant and researched morphology in multicultural settings as a graduate research assistant. Her passion for evidence-based practice led her to earn a clinical doctorate with a focus on language and literacy. Amy began her career at Easter Seals, specializing in early intervention, before transitioning to work with school-aged children. Driven by her desire to help students build strong literacy skills, Amy established her private practice, Amy’s Academics: Speech, Language, and Literacy. She is credentialed as a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction provider, and SPELL-Links Certified Provider. Licensed in California, Illinois, and Kentucky, Amy is also an IDA provider and has been sought out as a content expert in due process hearings. In addition to her private practice, she serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she collaborates in research focused on evidence-based reading instruction.
